I was invited to give a talk at the IGEL conference for Literature and Empathy to talk about my work on narratives and perspective-taking. The conference was held in one of Göttingen's many historical buildings, the old observatory (Alte Sternenwarte) where Gauss (of the Gaussian/ normal distribution) plied his trade some summers before my time. Whilst there I also gave a talk at the University of Göttingen about surrogate decision-making. Still, you cannot go to Germany and not make time for a beer in a lovely old Rathskeller on the town square. I certainly did.
